Macushla F. Hobin is a Denver based Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Practitioner and licensed acupuncturist, who specializes in pregnancy and post-partum conditions and in general, pelvic health for both women and men. In her clinical practice, she helps women have a happy and healthy pregnancy, birth, and to heal postpartum and helps men overcome low back pain and various urogenital health concerns. Additionally, with a background in education and nutrition, she offers the knowledge and tools for her patients to create a healthy lifestyle. She enjoys empowering her patients and being a part of a team on their healing journey.  She works diligently with each patient to optimize their health and believes traditional chinese medicine is an invaluable tool on the path towards true health and vitality. By integrating eastern medicine with modern research and western healthcare the results are profound.  After receiving her Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (2008) in San Diego, a 4 year, 3500 hour program, she spent time abroad doing post-graduate work in Beijing, studying at the hospitals and at their TCM University, finally finding her way back to Colorado. She started her focus on pregnancy during her masters program, when she wrote her senior thesis, a clinical trial on Acupuncture in Labor and Delivery. She continues to expand and refine her knowledge by doing continuing education studies with leaders in the field of pregnancy-focused acupuncture and pelvic health. She is a State Licensed Acupuncturist in Colorado (L.Ac.) and a nationally board certified Diplomate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine by the NCCAOM. Her practice includes Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Lifestyle and Dietary Therapy, Cupping, Gua Sha, Moxibustion, Qi Gong, Yoga, and Tui Na. Macushla has a heart-full, healthy life. She enjoys spending time in nature, cycling, telemark skiing, healthy eating, researching, cinema, flower arranging, traveling, and being with her friends and family. She is originally from back east, New Jersey and West Virginia. She has resided in Colorado since 1990. Her love of natural medicine started as a child, wild-crafting herbs with her mother. She grew up oldest of 5 children in a family that practiced natural health and medicine. As a lover of pregnancy and childbirth, the first home birth that she attended was her little brother’s birth. She was 7. She is a compassionate, result based, and individual focused practitioner, who works with great care and integrity meeting her patients where they are at. She works from her passion and love of the medicine and the individual she is treating. She treats her patients as family and enjoys seeing their own families grow and become healthier.
